Buckaroo Hotel

Keeping this one quiet, though has been closed for quite some time sitting in plain sight for a lot of Hertfordshire folk. That’s the only clue I am giving 😉 I checked this place out twice a while back and found no access points, but after returning with the usual urbex family and finding a somewhat rickety ladder, we found our way in!

Queen Elizabeth II Hospital

Certainly at the top of the list of splores this, without a doubt worth the trip! All be it only 20 mins away, for some of us anyway 😛

The day started early and after some very useful hints from a fellow explorer we walked straight into the hospital with no trouble at all, best of all the automatic doors were still working! A slightly odd experience in an abandoned hospital for the doors to literally welcome to through, but with the power still in throughout the hospital made for some amazing shots and a lot of laughs.

SRHQ 4.2 Regional Government Bunker

UPDATE!! February 24, 2016 (Scroll to the bottom!)

After hearing rumours of this place undergoing works I thought I would go see what was going on as I was in the area. On approach my jaw hit the floor with the horrors of what used to be Sovereign House, it’s gone! Is it wrong to feel slightly emotionally attached to a bunker that kick started my love for urbex when I was a kid?

Cambridge Regional War Room (RSG4)

En route back from RAF Upwood we decided to stop by Cambridge’s Regional War Room, aka RSG4 after developing a somewhat large fascination of bunkers. I was almost not going to bother uploading this due to a lack of pictures and lack of entry at all, however as there are no reports on this place at all anyway here is what I did get along with some history on the place…

RAF Upwood

Great explore this and has been on the list for quite some time now, only being an hour or so away. Unfortunately we did not manage to enter the hospital section as it is now half demolished and appeared to have a somewhat eagle eyed secca watching over it and the rumers I had heard of the aircraft hangars recently being vacated are not confirmed as we could not find an access point.

Collyweston Bomb Stores

A quick explore of this place as we were local in the area after finishing another local explore. Great place to look around and some interesting history on the place, worth noting that this was clearly kept secret as the site is secured with high fences and razor wire and not even marked on the map! If your still reading and haven’t heard of this place yet, here’s the history!

Peterborough District Hospital

Bit of a backup plan this one after another location didn’t get off the ground. Not much left to see now, however a great little explore none-the-less… The site is pretty much just a shell now with the majority of the site demolished, leaving only part of the main building standing. Had the camera with me at this one but decided not to use it, plus an awesome test for my new phone haha! Here’s the usual bit of history pinched off the interwebs…

Pig Research Centre

Rather unexpected explore this one after being kicked out of another location, this was next on the list! Not to everyone’s taste but good for a little mooch around none-the-less. As always here’s a little history on the place sourced on the interwebs.

Selly Oak Hospital

It’s certainly been a while since we had an explore on this scale and what an explore it was! After an early start, a McDonalds breakfast and quick fuel stop we arrived at Selly Oak Hospital to spend the next two hours looking for an access point.

Lyndon Green BT Repeater Station

Quick little explore this one, largely due to the lower level of the bunker being knee deep in water. Though a return trip with some wellies could well be on the cards at some stage… The bunker itself is well worth a look if you can brave the waters, it would also be worth noting to make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in your torch! Loose light down there and you will be stuck as the place is in total darkness! Here’s a little history on the site, once again shamelessly stolen from the interwebs.
